Set in the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her lover and convinces her hapless husband to take the fall. When he finds out the truth, Roxie lands in jail alongside Velma Kelly, a vaudevillian star with her own murder charge. Both women vie for the spotlight, fame, and the services of slick lawyer Billy Flynn, who turns trials into showbiz. With catchy jazz-infused music, sharp satire, and explosive choreography, Chicago is a dazzling tale of crime, celebrity, and corruption in the pursuit of American fame.
