Hadestown: Teen Edition
Hadestown: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences. This production is presented as part of Melbourne Youth Theatre Academy's 2026 Musical Theatre Intensive, performed by a cast aged 12 to 19 after just eleven rehearsals. This intriguing and beautiful folk opera follows two intertwining love stories — young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and immortal King Hades and his lady Persephone — on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.
