Hadestown: Teen Edition
Hadestown: Teen Edition is a folk-opera retelling of two intertwined Greek myths. Narrated by Hermes, it follows Orpheus, a young musician who believes his song can heal a broken world, and Eurydice, who is drawn to the security promised by Hades and his industrial underworld of Hadestown. Orpheus journeys below to bring her home, while the strained marriage of Hades and Persephone plays out around them. The score draws on American folk, blues, jazz and New Orleans traditions. Presented by the Adamson Theatre Company, the student theatre company based at Wesley College's St Kilda Road campus.
